Since the cells divide only until puberty, there will be no fat cells multiplications on the spots where they have been removed by suction. If there is a strong increase in weight after vibration modelling, first the fat cells that are located on other body areas will be filled in more, that means there will be a volume increase. Only in the case of a very strong weight increase, there can be an increase in the fat mass in the area of suction, since not all until the last fat cells have been removed from there.

Best of all, you should look after your weight after the vibration modelling. The targeted improvement of body contours is not a carte blanche for excessive eating. However, in the case of a weight increase you will not put up weight on the place where vibration modelling have been performed, but rather on other spots where there are still enough fat cells.

No! During a targeted weight loss, you first lose a lot of water from the cells; a so-called fluid content decreases. For a good filling of the tissue during the tumescent anaesthesia (local aneasthesia), more fluid is needed. Therefore, you should not plan a crach-course for a weight reduction before the planned liposuction. After liposuction it is however extremely helpful, if you make sure you eat healthy food with a low number of calories, and even may be also plan a treatment at a health resort (Kur). By means of tumesense –local anesthesia painfulness is reduced to the minimum. Only first small needles used to inject local anesthetic and a feeling of tension in the end are sensed. After the intervention you do not have any pain, during first days after it some patients can feel symptoms similar to the ones after a bruise. As a rule, no painkiller is needed.

Liposuction is a suitable method for each person with a healthy cardiovascular system and with no preceding serious illnesses. People who have an almost ideal weight, but also have diet-resistant fat deposits are best suitable candidats. The most frequent problem zones in women are: legs, low belly, thigh and buttocks, in men: belly and thighs (“love handles”).

The puncture spots are no bigger then about 5mm in size. Depending on the method used, the size of their diameter is between 3 to 5 mm. Due to their positioning in such a way so that they do not attract attention and their subsequent healing, with the time they are almost no longer visible any more.

The amount of fat, which must be liposucted, varies from case to case, depending on the physical appearance of the person and the area to be liposucted. At the most, under special precautions and applying of specifically suitable procedures, it is possible to remove a volume up to 5 litres in one session. A classical liposuction varies between 0,5 und 3 Liters. On the knees, ankles, arms and neck the volume to be removed varies among tenths of a litre.

Liposuction brings lasting and generally very positive results. Even in the old patients, a subsequent skin lifting is usually not necessary. In the course of 6-12 months after liposuction a beautiful smooth skin forms.

No. General anesthesia is only an additional medicamental load. With the help of a tumescent local anesthesia, extensive liposuctions can be performed without pain.

During a tumescent liposuction, big amounts of fat can be removed, and no general anaesthesia, which can negatively effect your circulation, is needed.

During the fine cannulae technique, very thin suction cannulae (fine cannulae) are used. This makes it possible to achieve a high precision and removing of fat layers that are located directly under the skin, so that skin unevenness is reduced. On the other side, it is possible to work on delicate, so-called sensitive body areas, where bigger cannulae cannot be applied any more.

Under certain conditions and by abiding to reasonable intervals between the interventions, performing repeated liposuctions is possible; there are no reasons against it. Under certain circumstances, (applied technique and the amount to be removed), it is possible to combine different problem zones in one liposuction session.

2-3 weeks

Directly after fat removal, a compression corsage and drainages are put over the affected spots. On the operation day, the incision spots can still soak. Daily light massages in the course of the coming weeks can be helpful to get a consistent result.

After puberty is over, fat cells are not able to multiply on certain spots anymore. Still liposuction does not protect from putting on weight. The fat cells remaining on the problem zones as well as fat cells everywhere in the body can significantly increase in size due to a new fat collection. Still in the case of the weight increase after the liposuction, it is more evenly distributed all over the body then before. Therefore, vibration modelling is suitable for shaping and harmonising body proportions, but not as a diet substitute in order to lose weight.

You are definitely familiar with the problem: even the stricktest diet and sports activities do not always help to lose weight on especially disturbing body parts such as thighs, upper legs (so-called saddlebags), internal sides of upper legs, belly or upper arms. Even during starvation diets, you lose weight on such spots as face or breast. With the help of vibration modelling, a real body contouring is possible, during which shape and silhouette of certain body areas are specifically changed and shaped. Fat pads, which do not also disappear even with the help of a diet and sports activities, for example so-called saddlebags, or fat on the belly and thighs are permanently removed.

To understand why vibration modelling permanently changes the body, you must know that individual fat cells do not divide after the puberty and only increase in size in the case of excess nutrition. Fat cells that have once been removed cannot appear again.

Vibration modelling has existed for more then 20 years. Earlier, this intervention was performed under general anesthesia. The side effects and complications, that you are familiar with from the mass media, such as blood vessel and nerves damage, or deep dents and holes, date back to this period and this method.

With the help of a new procedure, a so-called tumescent anesthesia, individuall fat cells in the fatty tissue are separated from each other. After that, the tissue can be removed and shaped consistently and gently under the skin with the help of very fine cannulae. Since the cannulae are very fine and blunt in the front, there is almost no danger of damaging the nerves or bigger blood vessels. Especially connective tissue fibres, which are so necessary for the future shape, are spared. The skin, which was stretched because of fat deposits, can slowly shrink. Vibration modelling has therefore turned to be a very gentle and low-risk method.

Our youngest patient was 18, the oldest 82. In order to keep the operation risk as low as possible and to treat you as well as possible, you should inform us about all your important previous illnesses, surgeries and possibly complications as well as about medications that are taken and your known allergies. Has there been a case of thrombosis (blood clot in a vein) in your family? Your statements in this regard are especially important. If you have recently done a blood test (blood picture and blood coagulation), please bring them to the treatment. Otherwise please come to the outpatient department of our clinic for taking blood sample appr. 1-2 weeks before the treatment.

In front of the mirror, we draw the contours on the skin together with you, to determine the new body shape. The spots for small opening for suction cannulae are specially anesthetised with local anesthetic. Afterwards a salty solution matching the body liquid and containing local anesthetic is cautiously injected into the under skin fatty tissue. The skin visibly swells up and looks like it has been inflated. (lat. tumescere –swell up). At the same time, the skin and the fat tissue become more and more numb. Due to liquid, fat cell swim like in an aquarium and now must be only removed by suction. Depening on the situation, we let the solution take effect for appr.60-90 minutes. During this time, you can watch a movie, listen to the musik, read or just relax.

After soaking time/residence time is over, the actual liposuction can start. A fine, blant hollow needle in introduced into the under skin fatty tissue and fat is removed by suction while modelling the form. The skin incisions needed for that are only 2-3 mm small and can barely be seen after several weeks. Inspite of only a few small skin incisions, enough fat tissue can be permanently removed.

A big advantage is that you are awake and can change position during the operation. Standing you can be thrilled about your new body shape after the treatment already during the operation.

After the vibration modelling is over, the skin incisions are covered with small wound strips and drainages. In general, the patients feel very fit and very well after the operation.

The extent of the bleeding during the surgery and of the swelling afterwards is significantly alleviated due to tumescent anesthesia. Therefore, the most patients can go to work one or two days after the surgery (no heavy physical work). It is possible to go in for sports again 14 days after the surgery.

It must be noted that all fat cells that are removed by liposuction, do not grow again or form themselves again. That means that the body shape, which was achieved through the vibration modelling, is lasting. During a weight increase or a weight loss later on, the new body shape will change proportionally; the saddlebags, that have been removed during the liposuction will not appear again.

Directly after the intervention, an improvement of the body shape can often be observed. However, it takes 2-4 weeks as a rule until small swellings or fluid accumulations disappear.

The new structuring and remodelling processes of the skin and under skin tissue last for 6 months at the least. Only after that, the result can be assessed. The contours and the surface keep improving for 1,5 years after vibration modelling.

Because of vibration modelling, the skin condition in the operation region also changes, it gets visibly tighter. Though vibration modelling often leads to spectacular results with a distinctly improved body shape, it is not realistic to hope to get a dream body and tissue texture of a teenager.

As during any surgical intervention, swellings, bruises, temporary feeling of numbness of the skin and fine unevenness of the skin can occur during the vibration modelling as well, though due to tumescent anesthesia, they are kept to a minimum. Serious complications such as bleedings, thrombosis and lungs emboli, infections of the affected skin area, cysts formation, or distinctive dents formation are extremely rare, 1 in 1000 interventions.

On the operation day, please come well rested and relaxed. Do not drink coffee, black tea, or cola.

Please do not forget to inform us once again, what medications you take, or what you have taken on the day of vibration modelling.

If possible, please bring results of the previous blood tests and your signed declaration of consent. A second pair of socks and underwear could be useful as well. Please wear light casual wear clothing since there is a possibility that it gets dirty. After the treatment, you feel fit and weel, as a rule. Inspite of that, you should not drive back home yourself.

Long drives home after the operation can be dangerous because of possible thrombosis. Therefore, we recommend you to stay in our clinic for one night. For the patients, who do not stay with us, it can for sure be advantageous to have someone to accompany you after the operation.

If you live nearby, you should ask someone to pick you up, or take a taxi.

The treatment costs are due on the treatment day. You can pay cash, with a check or with an ec-card.

In the first 24 hours, a big amount of the tumescent solution leaks as a pink-colored liquid out of the small skin openings. The liquid washes and cleans the tissue from the inside. Everything that leaks out must not be absorbed by your body and speeds up healing.

You should wear clothing, which is well washable. On the skin, small glue-bags trap/collect water. It is advisable, to wear comfortable clothes on the operation day, since due to tumescent –solution and compression corsage you can even get a little more corpulent at first.

The compression corsage has the following goal: to press together the under skin fat tissue and to squeeze out the remaining liquid. The droopy skin over the liposucted areas can pull together into the correct position, become firm and tight. The compression corsage must be worn one week long, 24 hours a day. Since it is unavoidable that the corsage will get dirty, you should know that you can wash it in a lukewarm salt solution after soaking. It is possible to dry in a dryer at low temperatures.

You can take the corsage off for a short while to wash it. To prevent skin inflammations please take one tablet of ofloxazin mornings and evenings in the course of 5 days. The local anesthesia is still effective up to 16 hours after the treatment. On the next day, you can experience something similar to muscle soreness in the areas that have undergone liposuction, which can last for up to 3 weeks. If needed, you can take 1-2 tablets of Diclofenac daily to alleviate these complaints. On the operation day, we recommend that you take a nap in the afternoon or go to bed early. Still movement is very important, since only this way the tumescent solution can drain off. There is nothing wrong with taking a short walk. Yet too strong physical activity should be avoided!

On the operation day after the vibration modelling, you should drink a lot (fruit juices, lemonade, mineral water, herbal tee) but no alcolhol. The dinner should be a light one.

After about three days, no more liquid leaks into the sac. They can be removed and substituted by a waterproof band-aid that we will provide you with. You can take a shower with this band- aid as well. You can remove it yourself after 4-5 days. If the band-aid falls off earlier, please substitute it with a new one (we will provide you with it). Please take 1g of vitamin C daily.

In the next day, you can drive a car again, but you should avoid long drives, or stop each hour and walk a little or do an easy gymnastics. Many patients go to work after 1-2 days.

After one week you should give an easy massage with a flat hand to the areas the have undergone liposuction.

If there are bad pains after vibration modelling, temperature, bleeding or reddening, you should call us and come directly to our clinic.
